Podere Ortica is a winery located in Arezzo in Tuscany. It is run by Francesca Bidini and her husband Simone. According to Francesca, Podere Ortica is farm living according to nature and the richness of their territory, producing wine and oil without additives, respecting the natural cycles.

The philosophy of Francesca is to be the least invasive possible with the plants and in the vineyards. Podere Ortica keeps the soil covered with grass and wild grasslands where there are many varieties such as clover, chamomile, dandelion, horsetail and many other; They cut the grass only when it is absolutely necessary to increase the organic matter to be left on the ground. This is a way to increase the humus.

Where new plants are planted Podere Ortica chose to help the growth of plants with legumes, field beans and green manure to increase the supply of nitrogen to help the rooting and growth of small plants. For phytosanitary treatments they use copper and sulfur assisted by propolis, essential oils and algae.
